About

Picture of LamiI live and work in Edinburgh. I studied tapestry at Edinburgh College of Art and have more recently been doing wood engraving and other printmaking.

I moved to Edinburgh from Canada in 1966 and have lived in the Abbeyhill Colonies more or less ever since.

I participate in the regular Colony of Artists event where local artists exhibit work in our homes (see website www.colony-of-artists.com).

In addition to exhibiting in other galleries, I have also had my work in the Grove Gallery and Amber Arts in Edinburgh and The Biscuit Factory in Newcastle.

I have tried to develop a style of engraving which complements my chosen subjects: boats, plants and animals, and the human form. I am continually broadening my range of prints. All of the finished prints are small and in limited editions.

As well as producing prints, I enjoy travel, particularly in Latin America, perhaps an area to explore through my work!

On 13th July 2009, our grandson Rudy was born. He is the most beautiful baby, and Gareth and Julia are wonderful, proud parents. (Please see the photo album on this website.)

I'd be glad to receive any feedback about this website. If you want to find out anything about any of the work shown here, please let me know.
