The images on this website are mainly limited edition wood engravings. Wood engraving is a kind of relief printing, carving parts of an end grain block of wood to produce an image. The use of hard wood and fine tools means that the prints can be small and very detailed. I usually print mine by burnishing them by hand, and sometimes helped along by an old bookbinding press. So although a number of prints can be taken from each block, every one is an original!
In addition there are a few different kinds of prints and a small number other works, mostly just as a record for me to remember what I've done. Apologies for the quality of the thumbnails and the photography! I'm just learning, and have yet to refine them, but you'll get the general idea.
Clicking on each thumbnail will give you a full image. If you would like to see a larger image of anything on the website or if you would like any further information about a specific piece of work, please let me know using the contact page.
In the section called 'photo album' you will find some photos of our
fabulous little grandson Rudy, born 13th July 2009. In this case, the
work is not mine, but Gareth's and Julia's.
This website is a work in progress, so please also use the contact page to pass on any comments or suggestions, or just to let me know that you have passed through!
